| It has been said in China for a long time
that mushrooms are good for diabetics, reduces
the blood sugar level, blood pressure,
and
tumor growth. Also, in recent years it has been well-known
that several mushrooms are effective against
cancer and people have become to pay attention
to these mushrooms. Actually, extracts from
mushrooms are used as cancer treatment drugs.
Among those we can count crestin (extracted
from kawarake mushrooms), renchinan (extracted
from shiitake mushrooms) and shizofiran (extracted
from suehiro mushrooms). BETA D-glucan is specially well recognized as a quite

Since BETA D-glucan is hardly absorbed in oral administration. However, the Hoju Tamogitake mushrooms showed potent anti-cancer properties even in oral administration. It has been reported that some cancer-implanted animals showed disappearances of cancers when treated orally with Tamogitake. A medical expert on cancer, who conducted the experiment, reported that either Hoju Tamogitake mushrooms contain something different from BETA D-glucan and which has good absorption and cancer-fighting capabilities, or have something that promotes the oral absorption of BETA D-glucan. Hoju Tamogitake mushrooms contain not only BETA D-glucan but also what are called polysaccharides which enhance the immune response. Therefore, Hoju Tamogitake mushrooms may effective on infections (viral infections such as influenza, HCV, etc., microbial infections such as pneumonia, etc.), cancer, etc. Getting older human beings often die from infections, cancer, etc with decreased immunity. Therefore, if we have potent immune systems, it is possible to protect from and overcome such diseases, and to keep healthy conditions. Owing to the immuno-potentiation properties of BETA D-glucan, the initiation and promotion of a cancer growth can be effectively controlled; and through the activation of macrophages, may prevent virus and bacterium infections and/or may kill them.Not only effectively inhibit a cancer growth, but also BETA D-glucan may possibly reduce the side effects caused by chemotherapy. Actually, we have patient's reports that the side effects caused by chemotherapy were reduced by mushrooms containing BETA D-glucan. At present, alternative medicine which uses BETA D-glucan for the treatment of AIDS and cancer is thriving. On the other hand, these mushrooms are said to improve hypersensitive immune systems which may causes atopic dermatitis, asthma, allergies, rheumatism, collagen disease, etc. Tamogitake mushrooms are also rich in minerals such as fibers, iron, calcium, etc. Fibers are known to remove the oxides which accelerate aging, produce bad cholesterols and cancers. So people who suffer from constipation or other geriatric diseases should definitely take them. Also their rich iron content helps the production of blood and improvement of anemia. Since Hoju Tamogitake mushrooms are also calcium rich, they prevent the diseases related to stress caused by strengthening the joints of the nerve ganglion, and promote resistance potentials to stress.
